James Arthur Mitchell

Mr. James Arthur Mitchell affectionately known as “Porky” departed this life on Wednesday September 7, 2022 at his home. He was the son of the late Mattie Pendergraph Mitchell and Tommie Mitchell and was born March 14, 1957 in Union, South Carolina
Mr. Mitchell attended Union County Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1975.
Mr. Mitchell attended Pastor Michael Pittman Services and was employed with Carolina Mortuary until relocating to Gaffney, SC. where he retired as a Construction Worker.
He was preceded in death – one sister, Mamie M. Hunter, one nephew Anthony Hunter; and his companion, Johnnie B. Woodson.
His memories will live on by his two sons, Derrick Woods of Atlanta, GA and Keith Woods of Union, SC; two sisters: Janie M. Jones and JoAnne M. Hookfin both of Union, SC; one brother, Tommie (Sylvia) Mitchell of Buffalo, SC; four grandchildren; six nieces; four nephews; a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
