Emerson Sherman IV

Emerson Sherman IV (fondly known as Limp) was born on April 15, 1940 and transitioned on October 24, 2020 in Union, South Carolina.  He was the beloved son of the late Grace Shelton Sherman and late Emerson Sherman III, and brother of the late Mary Sherman Lindsey.  Emerson was the proud father of five daughters, Grace (Alfred) Mayes of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Kimberly Young of Union, South Carolina; Emily (Fred) Dean of Greenville, South Carolina; Regina (Daniel) Mitchell of Spartanburg, South Carolina; and Melody Barber of Columbia, South Carolina.  He cherished his ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  ​

A graveside service to celebrate Emerson’s life will be held on Saturday, Oct.  31, 2020 at noon at St. Paul  Society Cemetery, 1160 South Duncan By-Pass.Services entrusted to Union Community Funeral Home, 219 W. Main Street, Union, SC 29379, (864) 429-9741
