Donald Hope Smith, of 110 Fant Lane, Union,SC died after an illness at his residence on July 25,2020. He was born March 5,1948 in Union ,S C. Was married to the late Jessie Lee "Jett" Smith. His parents are the late Frazier and Carrie Smith. He retired from Cone Mill in the Finishing Department. He served his country in the United States Army as PVT-E1. His military honors includes( Nat'l Defense Metal, Vietnam Cross Of Galantry w/Palm, Expert Rifleman and Marksman. He was educated in the Union County School System. He leaves a daughter Donna(Rodney) Young; and Amy Smith Green who preceded him in death;Grand-daughters Brittany and Sonya Smith and Najyra White all of Union, SC. And a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be Friday July 31,2020 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Home Going Service's will be Saturday August 1, 12:00 pm at the Union Community Funeral Home Chapel. The family will be receiving friends at the home. Services are entrusted to the Union Community Funeral Home(Free's).
