David Douglas, Sr. was born July 18, 1949 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was born to Luke Douglas and Rosa Lee Mabry Douglas but reared in Union, South Carolina by his aunt, Mariah Pearsall. He was the husband of Zelma Epps Douglas (wife of 53 years). They were blessed with two children, Michelle Douglas and David (Janice) Douglas, Jr.
A Life Well Spent...
David was a 1967 graduate of Sims High School. He received a Bachelor’s degree in 1983 from USC Spartanburg. He served four years in the United State Marine Corps. He retired from The Department of Social Services. David was a member of Thomas Chapel AME Church. He served as a Mason at Widow Son Lodge #34. He was also a member of Bethlehem Eastern Star Chapter #196. In addition he was a troop leader of Boy Scout Troop #43 at Thomas Chapel AME Church.
Sunset...
David entered Eternal Rest on Wednesday, January 26 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was predeceased by one sister, Ruby Hutto and one brother, Frank Douglas.
