CLARENCE’S JOURNEY
CLARENCE began his journey when he was born to the late Rhodia Hunter and the late Robert Rice on July 2, 1952. He departed this earth suddenly on Sunday, November 22, 2020.
Clarence was educated in the Union County schools and graduated from Sims High School in 1970 with the last class to ever attend Sims High. Clarence played his favorite sport of football for a short time until he was injured.
Clarence joined the Antioch African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church shortly after high school where he later gave his life to Christ. He was a faithful and active member of Antioch until he departed this earth. Clarence wore many hats in the church, such as Sunday school teacher, Trustee, Choir member, Devotional leader, Pastor Steward and Van driver, to name a few.
Clarence was employed at Union Textile Mill for over 30 years. He also worked for Wal-Mart Distribution center in Laurens and finally Wal-Mart Store in Union, SC where he currently worked at the time of his death.
Clarence was a fun person to be around as he loved to talk, sing and tell jokes. He showed concern to everyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. Clarence loved his church family as much as he loved to read his bible. He was sometimes called “Catfish” by many long- timefriends. Clarencewillbemisseddearly.
